Ancient Egypt
As we enter into Ancient Egypt, we find ourselves in a fantastic unit - one of my favorite! There is so much history in Egypt, from the pharaohs, to the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and so much more! It always amazes me when I am reminded that all this construction was done by hand...and each brick (of millions) weighed 5000 pounds - that's more than my car weighs. And there was no mechanized equipment! Amazing.
Well, below are a few links that I have found - some of them are pretty cool:
National Geographic Egypt - A great website that allows you to explore these ancient buildings.
Discovering Egypt - loaded with activities, art examples, full of interactive stuff to look at.
PBS Pyramids - The website behind their great documentary on the building of the ancient wonders.
